YK520 Tire Reviews

Price, durability, traction, and ride
Only available thru America's Tire

These tires are made for America's Tire by Yokohama (made in USA) They make it difficult to shop for them anywhere else so don't even try. I have a sport coupe Lexus (SC400) and it is a heavy car. These tires handle very well, but I was more concerned with the wearability. My car does wear out tires. And the size that I have to use makes them even more expensive. So when I chose these tires there had to be a balance between price and wear. I am very happy so far with these tires. I have had these for 10 months and they are wearing great. I have to purchase 2 more for the rear of the car because my Les Schwab specials (Federal tires) are ready to go. They lasted well for the money, however from the day that I got the YK520 installed I could tell the difference. That is why I made the change from the Continental tires I had before. Feel the difference yourself. Safe buy

Appearance, comfortable ride, relatively quiet, and traction.
N/A

I've owned these tires for a couple of days now and they are great! I had the Falken 512's and they wore out too quick. I drive moderately and do not drive alot either. I noticed right away that these tires were quieter and the sidewalls were stiffer, giving the car better control. Wet and dry traction has been great. I have not experienced these tires in the snow yet but I can imagine them doing great. The all season Falkens I had were good but if you want something with stiffer sidewalls for better control on turns, then I would recommend these as performance has been great so far. These do cost a little more but they are worth the price.

Great traction on wet or dry surface and as quiet or quieter than the factory installed Michelins at a much lower price.
No local dealers carry this tire for warranty proration. Discount Tire Direct is apparently the only supplier.

I did a lot of research before I selected these tires, including many owner comments. They sounded like just what I was looking for. An "A,A" rating, H speed rating and 520 on the 'wear meter'. The closest thing I could find locally was a Yokohama a notch or two down the food chain at more than $100 a piece plus $29 per tire mounting, balance and stems...plus tax and state 'disposal fee. I got a set of four delivered to the door for $312 and paid Walmart less than $40 to mount, balance and 'stem me up'. These tires are attractive, quiet, grip the road and have a great wear rating. They are also "Made in the USA" despite the Japanese name. A word to the wise. Go directly to the merchants web site. The 'links' do not show the correct in-stock status of the tire.
